Fluid cyclone is a common separation and classification equipment, commonly using the centrifugal settling principle. When the two-phase mixture to be separated enters the cyclone from the periphery at a certain pressure, a strong three-dimensional elliptical strong rotational shear turbulent motion is generated. Due to the particle size difference between coarse and fine particles, they are subjected to different magnitudes of centrifugal force, centripetal buoyancy, fluid drag, and centrifugal settling. Most of the coarse particles are discharged through the bottom outlet of the cyclone, while most of the fine particles are discharged through the overflow pipe, thus achieving the purpose of separation and classification.
